Guess it depends on how much memory a PC or MAC has and it's processing power. What got my attention to try Bidule was seeing that it can host a lot of VSTs loaded and ready to play, without bogging down your DAW. (see video links above) I prefer not to bounce tracks or freeze tracks, while i'm composing, due to to many vst's running in Reaper. I'm currently running Windows 7 64 bit with 4GB memory on a Pentium II. If I run two to three instances of Ominisphere with multiple Kontakts loaded, I notice a drop in performance in Reaper. I'm hoping Bidule will be able to help take some of the load off of Reaper by hosting multiple Ominispheres and Kontakts outside of Reaper. Here's what someone commented about using Bidule. "Bidule can connect VST/AU plugins and Bidule groups to your favourite ReWire-capable sequencer. You can host any arrangement or layering of virtual instruments in Bidule, and connect these to a ReWire-capable sequencer application. Added blacklisting of AUs causing a crash at scanning.Bidule can even synchronize plugins with the sequencer’s tempo.Test versions of VST and AU for OS X 64-bit.Lookup table: added set value dialog on double-click.
